Class@Home brings the fun and learning of our popular Class programs to you, in-person, during the school year. All you need to do is form a group of up to 8 kids, grades Pre-K - 5, provide the space and EDMO will do the rest!

Class@Home

In-person, small group EDMO Classes and fun during the school year!

Experience the EDMO vibe in-person at home! Class@Home is a three hour program designed for a group of up to 8 kids, grades Pre-K - 5, who want to spend time learning and having fun together during the school year. We work with you to customize the experience based on your group's ages and interests. You can choose the number of days a week that you meet, from two to five as well as the three hour time block. Your dedicated EDMO coach will lead the group in hands-on learning and games that interactively engage their minds and bodies, encourage creativity and collaboration all while helping them build social connections, empathy and a growth mindset.

We work with you to customize the experience based on your group's ages and interests. You choose your 3 hour block anywhere from 8:00am - 6:00pm (local time) 2-5 days a week based on your needs.

You can choose to have one or two Coaches for your Class@Home. If you choose one coach, another adult will need to be at home for the entire duration of the camp day to cover camp staff breaks.

Take a deep dive into the design thinking process! Kids construct creations that help solve common, everyday problems people and animals face! We will brainstorm, prototype, test, and re-design creations while collaborating with others!

DIY Creations

Think out-side the box with DIY Creations! Kids will create a variety of projects using things commonly found at home and learn about how materials can be repurposed and used for unique and inspiring projects!

Science Quest

Join us on an expedition to the wonderful world of Science! Using common materials found around the house, kids will become a master scientist while discovering more about chemical reactions!

Ingenious Innovators

Invent and innovate with EDMO! Kids learn about a new set of inventions and their inventors, discuss the process of ideation and design, and create their own prototypes demonstrating features and technologies of the themed inventions.

Artsy Tales

Jump into a creative journey with Artsy Tales! Kids paint, craft and sculpt whimsical characters found in favorite childhood stories. Campers explore color, different mediums, create different shapes and explore visual expression!

Animal Art

Calling all animal lovers! Kids learn about habitats, animal adaptations, and wildlife conservation as they create their own art projects. From creepy crawlies to underwater creatures, come get creative in Animal Art!

Minecraft EDMOtopia
(1st-5th only)

Build a virtual Minecraft community! EDMOtopia takes place on EDMO’s multiplayer Minecraft server, available only to EDMO students. Each session, kids will collaborate to complete community building challenges. Kids will need to bring their own laptop computer with Minecraft Java Edition installed, Chromebooks and tablets will not work.

Roblox Studio
(1st-5th only)

Build an epic Roblox world of your very own! Kids use Roblox Studio to design and build a 3D game world. They construct towering castles, design futuristic homes, sculpt mountains, carve canyons, and create anything else they can imagine. Kids will need to bring their own laptop computer, Chromebooks and tablets will not work.

Biome Blitz

Calling all nature lovers! Biome Blitz explores different biomes on our beautiful planet Earth, as well as the many fascinating creatures that call these various biomes "home."

Fantastic Flyers

Soar into the study of aerodynamics! Kids will get to stretch their design thinking skills as they prototype, test, and re-design flying models in these hands-on, interactive sessions.

  • 2 days/week - Additional $580 at the max 8 kids would be 145/kid

  • 4 days/week - Additional $1,120 at the max 8 kids would be 280/kid
  • 5 days/week - Additional $1,375 at the max 8 kids would be 343.75/kid

Next, one parent/guardian will need to fill out the Class@Home Request form to begin building your Class@Home program.

Interested in hosting an EDMO@Home program?

In order to host an EDMO@Home program, the host needs to provide the following:

  • If you want to hold any activities indoor: Well ventilated spaces that have either windows that open, an HVAC system or an air purifier.
  • A place for the child(ren) and Coach(es) to wash their hands.
  • A bathroom for the child(ren) and the Coach(es) to use.
  • Enough space for the child(ren) and Coach(es) to eat, work and play and be 6 ft apart at all times. Kids from the same household do not need to maintain 6 feet.
  • A small space to store program supplies.

How do I register for a Class@Home Program?

  • Visit the Class@Home page.
  • Scroll down and enter your Zip Code to see the availability of Class@Home in your area. 
  • If Class@Home is available in your area, a request form will appear when you search. 
  • Fill out the request form with all of the information requested. 
  • Our Program Manager will reach out within 48 business hours to finalize the details of your Class@Home program and confirm your booking.

Is there a minimum number of weeks I have to register for when signing up for a Class@Home program?

  • Due to COVID regulations and safety concerns, we are requiring that every Class@Home program runs for a minimum of three weeks and a minimum of two days each of the three weeks. You are able to sign up for more weeks as part of the registration process.

Do I need to know all of the participants in the Class@Home program before registering?

  • No, you can add participants to the Class@Home program up until the day before the first day of the program. During the registration process, you will only be asked to provide your information or the information of the family hosting the program.

What happens after I register for my Class@Home program?

  • After your registration is confirmed and paid for, you will receive a welcome email from your assigned EDMO Coach(es). This email will include information about the class, a link to our most current COVID-19 Policies and Procedures, a link for enrollment for all participants for you to send to those you are inviting to join your Class@Home program and an introduction to your EDMO Coach(es). One week prior to the start of the Class@Home program, we will send this same email out to all participants who have enrolled.

What do we do if we want to do Class@Home but we don’t have enough outside space? Can the whole class happen at a park?

  • A maximum of one hour a day can be held away from the host site at a park.
  • You are required to have two Coaches in order to leave the host site.

Who provides the supplies for the kids in the group?

  • Don’t worry, we have you covered! Your Coach(es) will bring everything the kids need to participate. Please note, if you choose one of our technology themes like Minecraft or Roblox, kids will need to bring their own device each day.

What do kids need to bring each day?  

  • For tech programs: Their device.
  • Snacks (no nuts please!)
  • Face Mask (see COVID-19 Policies for specific mask requirements)
  • Reusable Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat/Sunglasses (for sun protection)
  • Backpack/Bag (to take home projects)
  • Change of Clothes
  • Optional: Book, puzzle or other independent activity for lunch or free time

What is the policy if my child requires an aide?   

  • If your child requires an aide at school, we ask that you provide an aide for Class@Home. Please let us know your child will need an aide on the enrollment form. We will ask you to fill out a form to provide us with the information for the aide and their agency (if applicable).

What technology will my kid need to attend Class@Home? 

  • Technology needs for Class@Home will vary by program. Kids who are not participating in a technology-based program will not need to bring any technology to the program. For kids attending technology-based classes, you will find the list of all technology needed to participate in class activities listed on the specific theme page and in your welcome email.

What happens if my kid forgets their device at home? 

  • Each day at check-in, before the person dropping off your kid leaves, our EDMO Coach will run through a checklist to make sure each kid has everything they need for class. If it is discovered that your kid has forgotten their device or charger, we will ask that the person dropping off your kid returns home to get the required supplies and bring them back to the class location.

What happens if I forgot to disable the parental controls on the device, and my kid can not download software or connect to the internet? 

  • If our EDMO Coach is unable to log into your kid’s device or if parental controls block access to the internet or downloads, we will reach out by phone for your support. The best option is to make sure you disable all parental controls or passwords for connecting to wifi before class.

What happens if my kid’s device crashes or dies during class?

  • If your kid’s device runs into crashing issues during class or runs out of battery, our EDMO staff will have alternate activities they can work on while the issue is fixed.

What are the theme options available for Class@Home?
