About the classes
Our Online Classes are built to engage 8-15 kids in grades PreK-5. All classes are organized by grade level and designed to meet the needs and schedules of every family. Classes begin at 3:45 PST and last from 60 to 90 minutes.
Drum roll please… EDMO Online Classes are back by popular demand! These live, interactive Zoom classes are designed for kids to dance, create, and share together.
Our expert instructors engage your kid’s mind through subject areas like technology, maker, science, and the arts — all rooted in building social connections and encouraging a growth mindset. Classes allow kids to navigate collaborative design challenges, practice mindfulness, and — as always — get a little (ok, a lot) silly!
What's more fun than playing Minecraft? Learning how to get better at playing Minecraft! In this class, kids virtually collaborate with classmates to complete community building challenges in EDMOtopia, EDMO’s multiplayer Minecraft server. Not only will they practice fundamental computer skills such as mouse manipulation, keyboard shortcuts, and 3D spatial reasoning, but also engage in Social Emotional Learning activities centered on respect, empathy, collaboration, and digital etiquette.
Put on your goggles and grab an apron to explore chemistry through the lens of fun, hands-on experiments. In this class, kids will learn what molecules are made of and how individual atoms determine how substances interact with each other. Experiments will explode (safely, of course!), colors will change, and yes, there will be slime! While experimenting, kids will learn how to collaborate online with fellow students to try out new ideas and problem-solve to make new solutions.
Let's explore all the things that bring us together and celebrate the differences that make us unique! In this class, we will dive into social events and cultural celebrations from around the world. From learning about events that connect us all such as World Mental Health Day, to celebrating holidays from around the world ike Dia de los Muertos and Diwali, kids will get a first hand look at a variety of customs and traditions that will expand their worldview.
For science lovers who just can't choose their favorite category. This class has it all — chemistry, physics, biology AND maker projects. Kids will focus on a different topic each week with lessons that include creating erupting chemical reactions, engineering catapults and learning about the biology of various species.
