Sewing, either by hand or with a machine, lets kids' creative spirit shine! EDMO Coaches help kids at all skill levels learn how to sew. These sessions can cover basic skills such as threading a needle, mastering basic stitches, using pins, and needle safety; or Coaches can help more experienced crafters work with different fabrics, sew with special attachments (such as hooks, buttons, or bias tape), hem clothing, or take on bigger projects.

Sydney Segal

Sydney has been with Camp EDMO for over 12 years –– as a camper for seven, then a leader-in-training, counselor, and now… an EDMO Coach! She is currently a rising sophomore at UC Berkeley, with an intended major in Media Studies and minors in Journalism and Spanish. Aside from her passions for working with children, writing, and language, Sydney is an avid traveler, volleyball player, artist, and tutor. In fact, when she’s not editing her friends’ essays or leading repeat-after-me songs at summer camp, you’ll likely find Sydney at JoAnn’s Fabrics, passing a volleyball around, or planning her next trip abroad. Though learning can surely be difficult sometimes, Sydney hopes to inspire the same enthusiasm in kids for education and trying new things that she too developed at EDMO.
