EDMO is a nonprofit afterschool and summer program where kids learn through science, art, and play. Through programs for families and partnerships with schools and districts, we create joyful learning experiences that cultivate kind, curious, and courageous humans.

From honoring the legacy of Black Americans and promoting youth leadership to raising awareness about heart health and the importance of mother languages, this month invites us to engage with our communities and the world around us. Black History Month Black History is celebrated every February to honor the contributions and sacrifices of African American and Black people. Black History Month celebrates the rich cultural heritage, triumphs and adversities that are a permanent part of history. The spirit of this Black History Month celebrates and honors Black brilliance, and the culture that surrounds it. Every year, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History determines a theme for Black History Month. This year, the theme is African Americans and Labor. Youth Leadership Month Youth Leadership Month aims to encourage young people to take leadership roles and contribute to the community in their own ways. During the month, students are taught to assume leadership roles in their schools, communities, and the workforce. National Children’s Dental Health Month National Children’s Dental Health Month is an initiative by the American Dental Association in collaboration with Crest + Oral B. American Heart Month American Heart Month is observed to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and empower everyone to take steps toward a healthier heart. Darwin was a visionary naturalist who revolutionized science with his theory of evolution, changing the way we view the world around us. Random Acts of Kindness Week Random Acts of Kindness Week is a celebration of all the ways we can become a positive influence in each other’s lives. Sometimes, the world can be a selfish and cruel place and not everyone receives the kindness they need.
